Ice Cube, the iconic West Coast rapper and actor, is gearing up for the release of his highly anticipated 11th studio album, Man Down. Today (Sept. 23), Cube announced via social media the upcoming first single, “My Ego”, will be released October 18th. The new single is produced by Grammy Award-winning producer E-A-Ski.
This collaboration marks another chapter in the longtime partnership between these two hip-hop legends as E-A-Ski has produced tracks such as “Penitentiary,” “Still In The Kitchen,” and “Pocket Full of Evil” for Cube.
Cube, who last released a solo album in 2018 with Everythang’s Corrupt, has been teasing fans with updates on Man Down since he first announced working on the album last June on the Full Send podcast. During a September 2023 interview with Chuck D’s RAPstation, he revealed that the album is near completion and that he is excited for his fans to hear it.
Additionally, in an exclusive interview with Kurupt of Tha Dogg Pound, it was hinted that Kurupt may also be featured on the upcoming album. The camaraderie and mutual respect between Cube and his fellow West Coast artists is evident in their collaborative efforts.
