West Coast icon Ice Cube was recently featured on the Full Send podcast where he spoke about working in the film industry and discussed the different aspects of directing, acting, producing, and editing, writing the script for the hood classic Friday movie with DJ Pooh while also being on tour at the same time. Cube also talks about what went into putting the Straight Outta Compton movie together, the difference between AI voice versus original voice in music, Snoop Dogg‘s ownership of Death Row Records, managing the BIG 3 basketball league, and even putting together a new solo album entitled Man Down.
When asked at the 52:24 mark how often he goes into the studio to see if he can put something together Cube responded, “I’m making music right now. I got an album coming out called Man Down.”
Aside from dropping the Snoop, Cube, 40, $hort album with the Mount Westmore collective, Ice Cube’s last album release was 2018’s Everythang’s Corrupt featuring Too Short, Fredwreck, DJ Pooh, E-A-Ski, Hallway Productionz, Shawn Ski, and others.
