Ice-T’s 2012 Something from Nothing: The Art of Rap documentary is one of the most respected and revered hip-hop documentaries ever made. It was even an official selection for the Sundance Film Festival that same year. Therefore, it inevitably spawned a brand that prides itself on hip-hop in its purest form, highlights veteran emcees and DJs who excel at their craft, and paved the way for today’s contemporary hip-hop. And while the Live Nation-produced Art of Rap music tour came into existence over a decade ago, thanks to co-founders Ice-T and Mickey Bentson, this is the first Art of Rap event since 2023.
“We took a hiatus to watch what people are doing,” Bentson told Pollstar1 earlier this month. “Now that we see what’s happening, we’re back!”
Today, tickets go on sale for The Art of Rap’s latest show on October 18 in Rogers, Arkansas, at the Walmart AMP. Artists on the bill include Ice-T, DJ Evil E, Rakim, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Big Daddy Kane, the Sugarhill Gang, and DJ Kevie Kev. Be sure to get your seat before it’s gone!
