Xzibit Drops New Dem Jointz-Produced Single “Been A Long Time Pt. 2” Featuring Jenn Em Off Upcoming ‘Kingmaker’ Album

Xzibit continues the rollout of his upcoming album Kingmaker with “Been A Long Time Pt. 2,” a Dem Jointz-produced track featuring vocalist Jenn Em. The single is a sequel to his 2002 collaboration with Nate Dogg, which appeared on his platinum-selling album Restless.

This release follows October 2024’s introspective “Play This At My Funeral,” produced by 21 The Producer and paired with visuals from director Alexey Figurov. Kingmaker marks Xzibit’s first full-length project since 2012’s Napalm.

In an unexpected industry move, the album will be released through Greenback Records, the new label venture of UFC champion Conor McGregor. This partnership represents an intriguing intersection of combat sports and hip-hop culture, while potentially offering Xzibit’s music access to new audiences.

The original “Been A Long Time” emerged during Xzibit’s commercial peak, a period that included his role as host of MTV’s “Pimp My Ride” and high-profile collaborations with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and Eminem. This sequel arrives as X enters a new phase of his decades-spanning career, bridging his established legacy with contemporary hip-hop’s evolving landscape.
