Mistah F.A.B, G-Stack & Bavgate Celebrate 20th Anniversary Of E-A-Ski & CMT-Produced “N.E.W Oakland” With New Thee Shooters-Directed Music Video

The Bay Area rap scene has long been known for its gritty and authentic sound, and three of its most legendary figures have come together to release a long-awaited video that pays homage to their hometown of Oakland. Mistah F.A.B, G-Stack of the Delinquents, and Bavgate have joined forces to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their track “N.E.W Oakland” with a new music video directed by Thee Shooters. Released initially on Mistah F.A.B.’s 2005 album Son of a Pimp, the song has become a classic in the Bay Area rap scene and continues to resonate with fans two decades later.

“N.E.W Oakland” was produced by the legendary production duo E-A-Ski and CMT. Known for their innovative and groundbreaking work composing sonic masterpieces for the likes of Spice 1, Master P, Luniz, Ice-T, and E-40, the super-producers have their signature sound on the classic track, creating a dynamic and engaging backdrop for Mistah F.A.B, G-Stack, and Bavgate’s verses.

CMT spoke exclusively to Chad Kiser about “N.E.W Oakland,” saying, “I remember it was around the time Ski brought home the Motif and the Roland Phantom. The Phantom had that cool orchestra hit. New Oakland was the first song that was done using that orchestra hit from the Roland Phantom. That’s one of the things I remember making that beat, and the rest is history.”

The “N.E.W Oakland” music video captures the essence of Oakland and pays homage to the city that has shaped the careers of these three talented artists. The visuals take viewers on a journey through the streets of Oakland, showcasing its vibrant culture and diverse community.
