DJ Muggs Drops ‘Death Valley’ Short Film

Legendary producer DJ Muggs, known for his work with Cypress Hill, shook up things last year with the release of his album, Soul Assassins 3: Death Valley. The album, which marked his return to the Soul Assassins compilation series after 14 years, featured an impressive lineup of collaborations including Ghostface Killah, Ice Cube, Freddie Gibbs, Scarface, MC Ren, B-Real, and many others.

Now, DJ Muggs is taking his creative vision to the big screen with the release of the album’s accompanying short-film, Death Valley. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Jason Goldwatch, known for his work on various documentaries and music videos, including the award-winning documentary, One Big Trip, Pharrell Williams‘ Ice Cream Skate Team film, a 30-minute experimental film with The Neptunes (The 8th Planet), Nas’  Illmatic Live Netflix Special, and he has directed videos for Kanye West, Pusha T, Ludacris, and many others.   

Filmed on location in Death Valley, the movie stars DJ Muggs himself along with the guests featured on the album. This fusion of music and visuals aims to take viewers on a captivating journey through the desert landscape, immersing them in the unique atmosphere and energy of Death Valley.

With Death Valley, Goldwatch once again proves his ability to bring artistry and innovation to his projects.
