Kokane just dropped a preview of an upcoming Leviticus Black-produced track, “Come Up Like Me”, featuring west coast legend Ice Cube. The song is set to be featured on the upcoming Da Funk’n Adventures Of Dr. Kokanstine, dropping next year.
Ice Cube and Kokane were once signed to Eazy-E’s pioneering west coast label Ruthless Records, with Cube being in N.W.A and Kokane being with the G-funk originators Above The Law. The two west coast legends collaborated on the D-Mac & Laylaw-produced “Spittin’ Pollaseeds”, featuring WC, off Cube’s 2006 Lench Mob Records release.
Originally set to release this year, Kokane announced earlier in the year that the Da Funk’n Adventures Of Dr. Kokanstine album would be pushed back to 2024. The album is complete and is set to feature production from the legendary producer Ant Banks and Big Zeke of 80Seven Productions, Cold 187um, Cutty Dre, Rob Tee, and others.
The legendary Pomona, California artist is prepping the release later this week of the project’s latest single, “All My Life”, which features Weazel Loc of the Diirty OGz, and is produced by fellow Ruthless Records alum Rhythm D.
