The Chronic, which is widely regarded as one of the most influential hip-hop albums of all time, was Dr. Dre‘s debut solo album, released on December 15, 1992. The landmark album is best known for its definitive introduction of G-funk into the Hip-Hop lexicon. It introduced Snoop Dogg as an up-and-coming superstar and cemented Dre’s legacy as a producer, ultimately changing hip-hop music. The Chronic is the solo debut studio album from icon, Grammy-winner, hip-hop artist, and producer Dr. Dre. It was first released on December 15, 1992, and distributed by Interscope Records under his record label Death Row Records. For its 30th anniversary this year, the album was re-released and returned to streaming services after nearly a year away.
