Setting the stage for the modern boy band and now celebrating a 40-year career, New Edition brought their legendary R&B status to Music City over the weekend with pre-show activities ahead of their headline concert. The group spoke about their musical history and pop-up exhibit at the NATIONAL MUSEUM OF AFRICAN AMERICAN MUSIC during a panel hosted by Director of Marketing & Communications Candice N. Jones and Q92‘s The Kenny Smoov Morning Show co-host Sissy Brown ahead of a special recognition. As fans enjoyed the once-in-a-lifetime event, NMAAM President/CEO H. Beecher Hicks, III invited Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) SVP Artist and Industry Relations Jackie Jones to surprise New Edition with plaques commemorating their prestigious certifications, including a rarity of three multi-Platinum albums on MCA. The New Edition exhibit will be on display until June in the lobby gallery of the museum, located at 510 Broadway, Nashville, TN 37203. New Edition management and the Black Promoters Collective were partners in creating the special moment leading up to their show at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.
