LL Cool J says that he will be releasing his first full-length project in 10 years this year, saying in a Twitter post over this past weekend, “I’m competing with myself on this new album. Wait til you hear this MF. This year B. It’s coming.”
In 2021, as Executive Creative And Strategic Consultant to the iconic music label Def Jam, West Coast icon Snoop Dogg confirmed that a new LL Cool J album was indeed on the way. Later in the year, during his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, LL Cool J once again confirmed a new album was in the works, and also shared that A Tribe Called Quest frontman Q-Tip would be executive producing the project.
No further details have been released about the upcoming album, and it is unknown if Q-Tip will still be the executive producer.
LL Cool J first hit the scene back in the mid-80’s, dropping his debut album Radio in 1985. He has gone on to release 13 studio albums, including Authentic, which is the rapper’s most recent release from 2013. While LL has been more focused on his acting career lately, he has also built his Sirius XM radio channel, Rock the Bells, into an entire brand and website.
