On Saturday, January 21st at The New Parish music venue in downtown Oakland, California, the legendary Compton’s Most Wanted frontman MC Eiht will be headlining the Soul Beat Concert Series Presents: Menace II Society.
MC Eiht, with Compton’s Most Wanted, released 5 group albums including 1990’s It’s A Compton Thang and Music to Driveby in 1992. The Hub City OG landed a role in the hit movie Menace II Society, as well as dropping the “Streiht Up Menace” song on the film’s landmark soundtrack. Eiht recently dropped the 9-track Revolution In Progress project.
Additionally, a special tribute will be given to the “Oaktown Funk” originator and pioneer Ant Banks. Throughout his illustrious career, the multi-platinum producer has made countless hits for artists including Too Short, Pooh-Man, Ice Cube, E-40, Mack 10, Snoop Dogg, Spice 1, Mount Westmore, MC Ren, T.W.D.Y., and so many others.
Hosted by Lord Rab, with DJ Slowpoke, special guests include Oakland legend Pooh-Man, with more to be announced in the coming weeks leading up to the show.
