Today (May 13) Kendrick Lamar dropped his fifth studio album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers via pgLang/Top Dawg Entertainment/Aftermath/Interscope. The 18-track double-album features Blxst, Taylour Paige, Ghostface Killah, Kodak Black, and others, while Sounwave, J.LBS, The Alchemist, DJ Khalil, Boi-1da, and more handle the production of the project.
Leading up to the release, Lamar performed at the 2022 Super Bowl LVI halftime show on February 13 with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, 50 Cent, Mary J. Blige, and Anderson .Paak. Shortly thereafter, on April 18, Lamar announced he would be releasing his next and final TDE album the following month.
On Sunday (May 8) the Pulitzer Prize-winning rapper dropped a new video entitled “The Heart Part 5”, where he morphs into several familiar faces while rapping. During the five-minute track, Lamar’s face morphs into O.J. Simpson, Kanye West, Jussie Smollett, Kobe Bryant, Will Smith, and Nipsey Hussle while he raps verses from each of their perspectives.
