Iconic Public Enemy hypeman Flavor Flav was a recent guest on Steve-O‘s Wild Ride Podcast, and the two sat down to discuss a myriad of topics including Flav being 12 years sober, recording with super-producer Dr. Dre for what Flavor Flav says is a forthcoming album from the good Doctor, being the most sampled voice in music history, gangsta rap vs. conscious rap where he gives props to pioneers like Ice-T and Lady of Rage.
One of the more interesting parts of the interview between Steve-O and Flav was when Flavor Flav mentioned recording with Dr. Dre. “I was just at Dr. Dre’s house a week and a half ago,” Flav says. “One of the best people in the world, man. Not only that, but I’m honored for him to have me record something at his house for his upcoming album that’s getting ready to come out. That’s big to me, man. C’mon. Flavor Flav on a Dr. Dre album? Man. Word. That’s big to me, bro.”
Flavor Flav is hardly the only artist to work with Dre recently, as within the last several months a few of hip-hop’s elite have been seen or spoken on working with the producer at his studio, including from Grandmaster Flash and Diamond D, who proclaimed the “project will change the game”.
